SW&A is a ten year old business that is continually changing in response to the developing field of pollution prevention. Sandra Wyman is a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) who conducts pollution prevention consulting for a broad range of manufacturing clients. Ms. Wyman has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, an MBA from Bentley College, and more than 20 years of diverse industrial experience. She is also a Massachusetts licensed Toxics Use Reduction Planner. To optimize performance, Associates are assigned according to project needs. Sandra Wyman's professional background includes stints with the following firms: Monsanto Corporation As a Process Engineer, she formed and managed teams of student interns who developed an alternate filtration method that eliminated a hazardous waste source. Ms. Wyman also performed studies to reduce distillation energy use. Other work included tracking solvent losses through the facility and developing a computer model for a polymer washing process-- using this program, water use modifications were evaluated to find the optimum configuration. Air Products & Chemicals Company As a Development Engineer for the pulp and PaperCopy industry, she implemented new processes in: waste water treatment, black liquor oxidation, oxygen bleaching (first North American Eo installation), tall oil recovery, and nitrogen inerting. Foxboro Company (now a division of Siebe PLC) As an Application Engineer, she defined the scope and configured a $650,000 computerized causticizing control system at a South Carolina pulp and PaperCopy mill.
